I personally find the Magnolia Fragrance to be a rather unique and magical aroma. Why unique? Because the fragrance of Magnolia is truly irresistible. Why magical? Because the aftertaste is noticeably sweet, and the lingering sweetness in the throat is incredibly soothing—a sensation unlike that of typical aromas. The flavor is moderate and smooth. There’s much to savor. Interested tea lovers are encouraged to experience it carefully.

Jinyulan Dancong tea(金玉兰单枞)
Jinyulan Dancong tea gets its name from the yellowish-green leaves (which tea farmers call “golden”) and the natural magnolia fragrance it imparts to the tea.
It grows in a mountainside tea garden west of Daluding Village in the eastern suburbs of Fenghuang District , at an altitude of 670 meters, and is managed by tea farmer Lin Kehan. The tree is over 150 years old, 4.8 meters tall, with an open canopy measuring 4.3 x 4 meters. The trunk has a ground circumference of 73 cm and branches into two large twigs at the ground level. Branching density is moderate. The leaves are obliquely arranged, 10.2 cm long and 4 cm wide, elliptical in shape, with an acuminate tip, smooth surface, and yellowish-green color. The leaves have 8 pairs of lateral veins and 26 pairs of coarse, deep, and sharp teeth, with wavy edges. Spring buds sprout before the vernal equinox, light green in color and covered with downy hairs. Spring shoots are 14 cm long, bearing 4-5 leaves, with internodes 2.2 cm long. Spring tea is harvested after Qingming Festival. New shoots grow three times a year, with November being a dormant period for vegetative buds. Peak flowering occurs from November 10th to 30th, with flowers measuring 3.3-3.7 cm in diameter and containing 168 stamens. While the number of flowers is abundant, the fruit set rate is low.
Single-plant yield is high, producing approximately 10 jin (5 kg) of dried tea annually. Quality characteristics: tightly rolled, large, grayish-brown leaves; a high and sharp natural magnolia aroma; orange-yellow liquor; and a sweet, mellow, and refreshing taste.
In May 2005, it won first prize at the 9th Phoenix Town Tea Appraisal Meeting and a gold medal at the 5th Guangdong Provincial Famous Tea Quality Competition.
