Cinnamon flavor type. It gets its name because the taste of the tea is similar to the scent of the medicinal herb cinnamon.

It is located in the eastern tea garden of Guantou Peak Village, Fengbei District, at the foot of FengniaoJiu Mountain, which is 896 meters above sea level. This tea tree was selected and bred by the ancestors who managed the Bieshu Wen from the group of the Phoenix Narcissus(凤凰水仙) variety. It has an age of over 200 years, with a height of 4.65 meters. The circumference of the main trunk is 0.99 meters, and it is 0.56 meters above the ground. It has two main branches, with a tree crown of 5.06×4.91 meters. The branch density is moderate. The leaves are inclined upwards. The mature leaves are 9 centimeters long and 3.4 centimeters wide, being long elliptical. The spring tea buds start to sprout after the vernal equinox and the picking period is before the Rainy Festival. There are two rounds of new shoots per year, and the nutritional rest period is in October. In recent years, there are fewer flowers and fruits. The yield per single plant is relatively high, with an annual production of about 10 catties of dried tea. The greatest feature of its quality is that it has an aroma of cinnamon and a unique mountain flavor, and it is highly durable when brewed.
The “China Tea” magazine published in its second issue of 1998 contained a report on the aroma components of Guangdong’s high-flavor oolong tea – cinnamon aroma. The report stated: Cinnamon aroma is one of the types of high-flavor oolong tea. Its appearance is tight, straight and uniform, with a dark lustrous color slightly tinged with yellowish-brown. The dry aroma is fresh and pure. The internal aroma is clear and rich, sweet and long-lasting. The tea soup is orange-yellow and bright, with a smooth and mellow taste. It is highly resistant to brewing and has a prominent mountain flavor, making it an excellent high-flavor variety.
According to Zhang Tianfu et al.’s report: The Cinnamon of Wuyi in Fujian Province has an extraordinary fragrance, and it is a “newcomer” among the contemporary types of Wuyi rock tea. While the meat桂 of the high-fragrance oolong tea produced in Chaoshan Province, with its distinct aroma, gives off a pleasant fragrance when steeped and drunk, is also a rare and excellent variety.
