White Tea
White tea is one of the six major types of tea in China. It gets its name because of its appearance, which is covered with fine white hairs, resembling silver and snow. Its core characteristic is "naturalness", and it is the simplest type of tea among the Chinese tea categories in terms of production process. It does not undergo scorching or rolling: The production process of white tea only has two main steps - withering and drying. Without scorching and rolling, it maximally retains the natural components and original flavor of the tea leaves.
"One year as tea, three years as medicine, seven years as treasure": White tea is suitable for long-term storage. Under appropriate conditions, it undergoes a slow transformation, with its flavor gradually becoming mellow, and its medicinal value (such as clearing heat and reducing fire) also improves. Old white tea is highly sought after.
